Luigi Pizzardi

Optometrist

B. OPTOM (UNSW), MEMBER OF OPTOMETRY AUSTRALIA, MEMBER OF CORNEA & CONTACT LENS SOCIETY OF AUSTRALIA

One of our principal optometrists, Luigi graduated from the University of New South Wales and has been practising optometry for thirty-six years.

Luigi enjoys being part of the allied health community, and has a special interest in managing patient’s eye health. He has experience with patients of all ages, from infants to the most senior of our local population. He enjoys conducting comprehensive eye examinations to solve individual eye health and visual needs for work, home and leisure activities. Luigi understands that visual solutions are specific for each patient and so focuses on each patient’s individual visual needs. His special interests are contact lenses and children’s vision. Luigi regularly attends continuing education programmes to keep up to date with the latest developments.

After hours, Luigi watches adventure movies on repeat, and plays tennis and soccer.

Kim-Maree Gardner

Optometrist

As a young child with high short-sightedness, a squint and a lazy eye, our other principal optometrist, Kim-Maree, gained wonderful eye care through both optometry and ophthalmology. As a result of these positive life-changing experiences, Kim-Maree became an Optometrist to help other people see. She graduated from the University of New South Wales and has been practicing Optometry for over thirty years.

Kim-Maree believes that Optometry is not just about providing a pair of glasses; it involves lifelong management and counselling to provide a patient with the best visual outcome as their visual needs change. This is the philosophy she applies to her work, with the aim of helping people see and achieve their life pursuits.

Working in a full-scope independent practice with access to state of the art technology, Kim-Maree is passionate about providing a high standard eye care. She has a special interest in children’s vision, myopia control strategies, contact lenses, aged care visual assessment and management of low vision.

Kim-Maree is a member of The Australasian College of Behavioural Optometrists (ACBO), Optometry Australia and the Cornea and Contact Lens Society of Australia. In order to provide the best possible, long-term care, she keeps up to date with latest research and attends many Optometry conferences.
